Beach

In Nishiizu town, there are 9 beaches opened to visitors. The clear water from Suruga Bay makes Nishiizu a perfect beach holiday spot for families and friends!


Facilities

Be it swimming, sea sports, or just chilling by the ocean, if you like the sea, Nishiizu is a great place for you! Not only does Nishiizu offer a relatively more comfortable climate, each beach has its own parking facilities, toilet, and shower facilities(please note that payment is required for some facilities). Some beaches even have restaurants to satisfy your growling tummy after a good swim!


Norihama Beach

Situated across our main tourist attraction, Dogashima, you can see many interestingly shaped rocks at Norihama Beach. Because it is strategically located in an inlet, the gentle waves make this beach a popular spot for families. From the beach, we recommend taking a 5-minute walk to the Sawada open-air hot spring, where magnificent ocean views awaits you.

Tago-Sebama Beach

Tago-Sebama Beach is a well-hidden local spot with a pebbly coast of about 60 m long. With crystal clear waters, this beach is great for snorkeling and the observation of fish.

Koganezaki Beach

Located right beside the scenic spot, Koganezaki, Koganezaki Beach is a sandy beach approximately 100 m in length. Because of the water is very clear and it is near to a diving center, Koganezaki Beach is very popular for diving and snorkeling.

Crystal Beach

Like its name, Crystal beach has crystal clear, shallow waters with an approximately 500 m long beach. The beach is located right beside the Ugusu Campgrounds, and therefore this place is always bustling with activities during the peak season.

Ohama Beach

Ohama beach is one of the largest beach in Nishiizu town. When the weather is great, many people come here to surf. It is also an extremely popular fishing spot.
By Bus: 5-minutes walk from Hamabashi bus stop, Nishiizu Tokai Bus.


Futo Beach

The Futo beach is a small pebbly coast approximately 100m in total length. It is popular as a great spot for diving and snorkeling, and has very clear waters. It is also walking distance from many geosites, where you can enjoy sceneries that are unique to Nishiizu.

Other beaches

Otago beach:

Otago beach is a small coast of approximately 50 m in length, with calm waves and shallow waters. In the distance, you can see the famous Meganecho and Tagoshima, which are especially beautiful at sunset.

Arari Beach:

Arari beach is a small pebbly coast of approximately 50 m in length. Located in a shallow inlet, the waves are calmer, making it safer for children.

Ugusu Beach:

Ugusu beach is a sandy curved beach with calm waves, of approximately 230m in length. It is located within the Usugu fishing port. You can enjoy fishing while on the levee.
